coverage is going up

Well it's been a lot to slog through, but I've begun posting our initial reactions to Toy Fair 2006.

Start here to read our picks and pans from the fair. It's a great "guided tour" of the whole event without seeing everything. But by all means, if you see a pic you dig while clickin through, explore all you want, that's why they open in new windows. There's so much to see.

We'll have even more coverage coming up soon, details on each showroom and videos and stuff.

In the mean time here's a super secret photo we're not supposed to share with you

well haha, that's from one of the parties obviously, here's a pic of me with King Kong

The Next Day

Well I just woke up. I got in real late last night and was so exhausted that I slept until noon. I also realized that I have yet to post.

As always Toy Fair is a lot of fun. Some highlights were the LEGO party where I got to meet the guys from Brick Journal and catch up with Bobby and Robb from Raving Toy Maniac. We also got to hang out with Matt "Iron Cow" Cauley who is truly one of the best. Check out the Battlestar Gallactica mini-mates he did.

I will detail more about the toys later. Needless to say that I am most excited about the Star Trek figures from Diamond. Wait until you see them!

I also got to meet Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling again and I finally have a good picture!!!!

I am now about to start posting as much as I can. If there are any questions about what we might have seen feel free to contact us.

Well we braved the blizzard and made it to our appointments just for you! You'll be happy to know that it was worth the cold. Big things are happening in the the Designer Toy world. Here's a link to the folder with all the images, but a few things are worth mentioning before I hit the sack... http://www.millionaireplayboy.com/images/tf06/index.php?list=designer

First off, congratulations to David Horvath and Sun Min Kim for winning Specialty Toy of the Year for their lovable Uglydolls. We were rooting for you! Also, the Ugly camp blew our minds with two new members to the family. First up is the brown Chuckanucka! I am a very big fan of brown, so I'm very excited for this guy. Also, new is Moxy with long ears and a great expression.
Also, STRANGEco rocked my socks with by showing a new Jeremy Fish piece. What does any Bunnyvan need? A Turtlecamper to follow behind it of course! This was a great looking toy with ball jointed legs, head, and tail. It'll have two variant colorways: gold and silver. Very nice!

STRANGEco also had a great looking Ron English piece, Cathy Cow.

Wheaty Wheat were showing the Artist Series MAD*Ls as well as some great first time work from the likes of Christopher Lee, Brandt Peters, and Tragnark. These looked great, as everything Wheaty Wheat produces does. Check out the image gallery for a look at Mellow and the rest of Wheaty Wheat's booth.

We also had a look at DC Direct and their super hero/villian toys. Very impressive. Here's a link: http://www.millionaireplayboy.com/images/tf06/index.php?list=dc_direct

It was a great day that was capped off by a fun Carnival at Yoyamart put on by STRANGEco with smiles and magic supplied by Sam and Tury of Friends with You. The snow seems to have let up, so we'll have no reason not to bring you more coverage and those images you're waiting for tommorrow.

And now....sleep.

oh noes!

It's snowing pretty bad here in NY. We... may...not...make it out.....alive.
We're going to do our best to hit Javits center and hit our appointments, but right now... it's pretty bleak.

Question. Are bars open if it's a state of emergency?

We're in NY

GO TO IMAGE GALLERY NOW

We got into NYC this morning, and had time to check out Toy Tokyo and Kidrobot before we hit our first couple of appointments.
Check out the gallery to see what we've got already, and keep checking back. Mezco's King Kong is amazing, Art Asylums Battle Star Galactica looks fantastic, and Hasbro and LEGO have lots of great surprises.

Keep checking back as we add new pics!

Looks like the weather is going to be a little rough.

Toy Fair 2006

We're getting ready for Toy Fair 2006. We're leaving bright and early tomorrow to get into the city, hopefully before the big snow storm hits. We've handled worse!

We've dusted off the blog a bit (obviously), gotten our gallery ready to go; our cameras are charged, and our kick-ass promo kits are ready to hand out. Whoa momma.

So starting Sunday, pop back and check what we're doing, we'll be adding pictures from the show, and posting updates here. And then our full blown coverage will begin after we get back.

Also, please take a second and click on our sponsors. They have some great deals and their people behind the scenes are terrific. Seriously, we don't just accept anyone as a sponsor.

We're hoping to bring you some surprising news and awesome pics, so stay tuned.
